Hello, welcome to my website, I am Guillaume Cécile. I am originally from Mauritius, but now I live in France. I am currently doing my PhD in theoretical physics at the University CY Cergy Paris (LPTM). My research is mainly focused on the study of the out-of-equilibrium dynamics of 1D integrable (classical/quantum) systems and their emergent hydrodynamic behaviour. In particular, I am interested in how Generalized hydrodynamics (GHD) can be used to describe the dynamics of integrable models in out of equilibrium settings, and to what extent this description is valid in the presence of weak integrability breaking. Moreover, since last year, I have been focusing my research on the study of the effect of measurements on quantum systems, namely in quantum circuits.

I rely heavily on the use of numerical tools to simulate and test my hypotheses. In past projects I’ve worked on, I’ve used Tensor Network (ITensor library C++) to simulate quantum quenches in quantum systems. I also use Python daily to solve partial differential equations numerically and to visualise data. In previous university projects, I’ve also used GPU programming (CUDA) and machine learning (Keras/Tensorflow).
